This Saturday I had a few hours to shop for a pair of Tan Heels. If possible, also T-bar shoes were supposed to be purchased but as it turned out, that was very wishful thinking.
First on the map: TK Maxx. A treasure chest for shopaholic fashion addicts. Maybe I would find my must-have shoes there? A pair of wonderful BCBG shorts later, I left, happy and smiling, determined that the tan shoes were just around the corner waiting for me.
Into Ted Baker I sauntered. Yes, a pair were sitting on the shelf tantalizing, even more tempting was the On Sale display. Well, the shoes had to be tried on with something, right? So on with the gorgeous shorts and paired with a khaki silk blouse, the shoes looked…. not as lovely as the blouse did with the shorts.
A khaki blouse later I was still on a mission for the Tan Heels. Even the most high end shops were visited but being a savvy recessionista shopper, those Louboutins had to be gingerly put back on their shelf.
By now my poor feet were tired, but as a last stop, I visited Aldo. Lo and behold, there they were, the perfect Tan Heels. It’s just that I couldn’t get the 38 on… Like a cheated Cinderella I cycled home.
Aren’t they just lovely though? I will make a second try, this time going straight to the shoe shop and doing as few detours as possible to keep the feet zesty and happy for that perfect pair.
