Carlingford Hen Party

Amazing weekend. I’ve lost my voice and my heart is still in Carlingford. What a lovely, welcoming and warm town!

After breakfast with vintage champagne in the bus, 14 girls headed for the Activities Centre. The staff took care of us really well, Zorbing and Leap of Faith were both fun but SO scary!

Afterwards we had some time to get ready and spruce up, dinner at The Bay Tree restaurant followed. I don’t think I’ve ever had creamed rice so TASTY! They had so many Coeliac friendly alternatives as well.

We also went to Taffess and PJ’s, both great places to drink, dance and chat and have fun.

Can’t wait for the wedding now, all the girls will be there again and we are looking forward to it so much.

Time to search for your Roots!

Since Secret Cherry bought a pair of gold YSL Trib Too slingbacks in Belfast in March, the luxury budget has been in tatters. I haven’t been to the hairdresser to do my roots and the new Ombre trend for hair is just a very convenient way of wearing my mane right now.

At the 21st Century Marketing group Event

Secret Bite went to see what  tips and tricks the 21st Century Marketing people could show us. It was very interesting and we left a thousand ideas richer.

It will be fun but tough to try and implement even just a few of them to our little business and make it grow and flourish.

Pretty Pasties on Sunday

My Sunday musing is on Pasties, it’s difficult not to love them. Small and dainty enough to make a sweet and simple present for yourself or a friend but making quite an impact.

I like to call them the underwear that’s not really there as it’s more of a nipple accessory than bra!

Our apartment in Belfast

Five girls arrived in style in Belfast after having gotten lost somewhere in Northern Ireland, and after circling Lisburn. Twice.

The Titanic View Apartment was beautiful, the owner, Trevor greeted us at the door and we proceeded to “ooh” and “aah” over the sound system, beautiful view and gorgeous bedrooms! Friday was spent unpacking and giggling and then we headed out for a pint to the Duke of York.

Things got a bit crazy when we came back!

Frida Aasen, the up-and coming Norwegian model with the amazing Barbie-looks is just my total favourite at the moment. She has that un-perfect/perfect look, adorable, cute and absolutely stunning.

Titanic tour and Belfast by Day and Night!

Oh we are so excited! The Secret Bite team is heading to Belfast this Easter weekend. The plan is to view the super-hyped Titanic attraction, the Titanic museum which opened last weekend and which already has sold nearly 100 000 tickets.

We also want to shop till we drop and party like Kings (or in this case Queens) of the World at El Divino.

The Titanic sank in April 1912, exactly 100 years ago and the ghost of this ship has haunted many since. All of us girls had our hearts going on for Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet in the epic movie and Belfast is where the ship was built and it’s here in the old docks that the new Museum resides and also where we will be staying, at the amazing Titanic apartment.

In an attempt to replicate a bit of that Titanic magic we have decided to dress the parts, the Museum has a replica of the grand golden stairs! It will definitely call for a photoshoot moment.

I researched some of the fashion at the time and will be wearing an outfit which I think a young lady might have worn if she was ever on the Titanic in 1912. With a bit of artistic freedom allowed of course.

Kate Moss in a Bodystocking

I came across this bodystocking picture yesterday, Kate Moss looks like a cross between a sylph and a ballerina. This woman had it in her from the very start. I don’t think it’s a recent photo, cannot find where it is from but it once and for all shows that a bodystocking is not only sexy and provocative, it can be truly classy. Dare I even say high fashion?

I also can’t have enough of this second picture. What posture and talent, Kate Moss is the Queen of all models…

As a part of my effort of going back to basics I have incorporated a beauty regime involving a soft toothbrush (!) and Nivea Creme, the classic one in the lovely blue, simple tin. I’ve used it for two weeks now and it seems that my skin is beginning to thank me. I use the toothbrush to do a soft peel and every evening I slather on the Nivea. I wake up with amazing, smooth glowing skin and don’tneed to put on a moisturiser under my make-up in the morning at all. So far so good!
